I’ve been quiet on the blogging front. With two weddings this summer, it was a hectic time. First our son was married in July, and then our daughter (the artist for our book Motherhood) in September. Before this summer I had two grown children, now I have four. I understand there are no guarantees in life. Yet, for this moment in time, I feel exceedingly blessed and grateful that both of my children have found people who they not only love, but who they consider their best friends.
Our son absolutely bursts with pride when he looks at his new wife, in spite of the fact they have been living together for several years. He delights in referring to her as his beautiful wife. As for my daughter, the stars in her eyes are still shining brightly. Yet, for a parent, what I find most rewarding, is that my new daughter-in-law and son-in-law look at their new spouses with the same love and respect as they are receiving.
They have a wonderful start. Yet now, is when the hard work begins. I pray that their love and faith will sustain them through the inevitable trials of life.
